How a foreigner buys property in Brazil
There is no restriction on foreigners owning urban property in Brazil. What the process does require is a tax ID, a registered currency inflow and the right sequence of steps. A purchase above R$ 1 million funded from abroad may also support a residence permit application.
Advisory
Who you will be dealing with
Daniela Prates advises buyers in São Paulo’s highest tier of residential property, with a background in luxury retail that shaped how she reads architecture, finish and scarcity.
The work is deliberately low volume: fewer properties, examined properly, with discretion as a condition rather than a courtesy.
